I loved when he said that - I think he did mean it in a good way. Or maybe I just need to believe he meant it in a good way. Blocking those last minute relaxed environmental regulations that Bush tried to put through was a very good start.
I think he meant it in a good way too. I was surprised though when I reread what he said. The science comment was followed immediately by something about technology and healthcare. On re-reading I wondered whether he was suggesting research into drugs and such. When you look at it, the ones who benefit most from drug research are the big pharmaceutical companies. Of course we could all be shareholders in that I suppose theoretically. Hopefully he was talking about using technology to streamline healthcare rather than something that would make big pharmaceutical business happy, but you never know...
